The Ladies of Charity was founded in 17th century France by St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac. The seeds sown by these two heroes of charity have grown into a worldwide ministry for social justice, with 420,000 members in 43 countries. The volunteers of this charitable body are recognized throughout the world as champions of the poor and underprivileged.
Here in Oxon Hill, St. Ignatius has an active chapter. The Ladies meet every other month to plan their activities. Women who are interested in getting involved in the work of this chapter are invited to attend their next meeting.
